Lighting Designer James Farncombe
James is a freelance designer, working throughout the UK and internationally. Recent theatre includes:
Juno and the Paycock, Men Should Weep and Double Feature (National Theatre); Inadmissable Evidence (Donmar Warehouse); Swallows and Amazons (Vaudeville Theatre, West End); Ghost Stories at Liverpool Playhouse, Lyric Hammersmith, West End and Toronto (Winner, Whitelight Best Lighting Design at the Whatsonstage Awards, 2011); Swallows and Amazons, Juliet and her Romeo and Far Away (Bristol Old Vic); Lord of the Flies (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre); The Overcoat (with Gecko Theatre) and Twisted Tales (Lyric Hammersmith); The Glass Menagerie (Young Vic); The Village Bike and Wanderlust (Royal Court), and Plenty (Sheffield Crucible).
James is also design associate at the Bush Theatre, London, where he has lit Like A Fishbone, 2000 Feet Away, The Whiskey Taster, Tinderbox, Crooked and I Like Mine With A Kiss.
