Michael trained as a designer at RADA. Recent work includes: Anne Boleyn, All’s Well That Ends Well, The Winter’s Tale and In Extremis (Shakespeare’s Globe); Observe The Sons Of Ulster Marching Towards The Somme, Clever Dick, Out In The Open, Keepers, The Awakening, Four Door Saloon and My Boy Jack (Hampstead Theatre); View From The Bridge, The Price, The Cherry Orchard, The Man Who Had All The Luck, Living Quarters, All My Sons, Les Liasons Dangereuses and Death Of A Salesman (Edinburgh Lyceum); The Clean House (UK Tour); Shadow Of A Gunman and John Bull’s Other Island (Tricycle); Men Should Weep and Easter (OSC Tour); Amphibians (RSC); Mountain Language (written and directed by Harold Pinter, Lyttelton NT); Lies Have Been Told (Trafalgar Studios); Rafts and Dreams (Royal Court Theatre Upstairs); Nova Scotia and The Road To Nirvana (Traverse); Darwin In Malibu and No Sweat (Birmingham Rep); Private Lives and Present Laughter (Theatre Royal, Bath and Tour); Vita and Virginia (Altes Schauspielhaus, Stuttgart); The Fatherland, Millfire (Riverside Studios); Time And The Conways (Bristol Old Vic) and productions at The Bush, Royal Exchange, Manchester Library, Sheffield Crucible, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Nottingham Playhouse and elsewhere. He won the Drama Magazine Best Designer Award for the premiere of Tony Marchant’s The Attractions and has been nominated for four other awards.
